We are launching our monthly writing competition titled write and win. This month we are focusing on short stories in both English and Sinhala language. No topic or age restrictions so keep your pens/keyboards talking and submit your short story before 13th July 2020 to win Rs. 5000 worth gift vouchers. The rules and submission process are described below.
Rules of the competition
- No age limit.
- Only previously unpublished work will be eligible. (Writings that are featured on personal websites/blogs/social platforms are eligible)
- Language can be either English or Sinhala.
- Any topic/theme/genre/structure is acceptable. Surprise us with your creativity.
- Minimum word count is 750 words
- Deadline is July 13th 2020 12.00 midnight.
- One participant can submit any number of short stories.
- No submission fee.
- Wachana team’s decision will be the final decision regarding the winner.
- Only the winning entry will be eligible for the Rs 5000 worth gift vouchers.
- One winner as well as few shortlist pieces (according to the amount of submissions) will be selected. These selected short stories will be published on wachana website, social media platforms and as a limited-edition short story collection in both physical and digital formats.
- Winner and the shortlist pieces will be announced after 20th July 2020.
Submission process
- All the authors who submit work should like/follow Wachana Facebook and/or Instagram pages. Those who are not will be disqualified from the competition. (If you don’t have a Facebook account, then following Instagram will be eligible to participate)
- Please mention short story title, author’s name and email
address clearly in the pdf or word document of your submission. - Go to the link complete the submission form and upload the pdf of your short story.

වචන වලට කැමති හැමෝටම වචන වලින් තරඟයක්. ඔබ ලියපු, වචන අපි තෝරන හොඳම කෙටි කතාවට අපෙන් රු 5000 වටිනා තෑගි වවුචර. ඕනෑම මාතෘකාවකින්, වයස් භේදයක් නැතුව ඕනෑම කෙනෙකුට සහභාහි වෙන්න පුලුවන්. ඉක්මන් කරන්න. නිර්මාණ භාරගන්න අවසාන දිනය 2020 ජූලි 13 වනදා. තරඟ කොන්දේසි සහ නිර්මාණ යොමු කල යුතු ආකාරය පහලින්.
තරඟ කොන්දේසි
- වයස් සීමාවක් නොමැත
- මීට ඉහත පලනොවූ නිර්මාණ සඳහා පමණක් වලංගු වේ. (තම පුද්ගලික වෙබ් පිටු,බ්ලොග් සහ සමාජ මාධ්‍ය වල පල කරන ලද නිර්මාණ සඳහා අවස්ථාව හිමිවේ)
- භාෂාව සිංහල හෝ ඉංග්‍රීසි
- ඕනෑම මාතෘකාවක්, තේමාවක්, සැකැස්මක් යටතේ නිර්මාණ ඉදිරිපත් කල හැක.
- වචන 750 වඩා වැඩි විය යුතුයි.
- කෙටිකතා ඉදිරිපත් කලහැකි අවසාන දිනය ජූලි 13 වනදා මධ්‍යම රාත්‍රී 12.00
- තනි නිර්මාණකරුවෙකුට ඕනෑම නිර්මාණ ප්‍රමාණයක් ඉද්‍රිරිපත් කලහැක
- ඉදිරිපත් වීම සඳහා ගාස්තුවක් අය නොකෙරේ.
- ජයග්‍රාහකයාගේ තීරණය වචන කණ්ඩායම සතුයි.
- ජයග්‍රාහී නිර්මාණයට පමණක් රු 5000 තෑගි වවුචර හිමිවේ.
- එක් ජයග්‍රාහක නිර්මාණයක් සහ කුසලතා නිර්මාණ කිහිපයක් (ලැබෙන නිර්මාණ සංඛ්‍යාව මත තීරණය වේ.) තෝරා ගන්නා අතර, එම නිර්මාණ වචන වෙබ් අඩවියේ සහ සමාජ ජාල වල පල කරන අතර පසුව එම නිර්මාණ එකතුව කෙටිකතා සංග්‍රහයක් ලෙස මුද්‍රිත සහ ඩිජිටල් මාධ්‍යයෙන් එලි දැක්වීමට බලාපොරොත්තු වේ.
- ජයග්‍රාහී නිර්මාණය 2020 ජූලි මස 20 වනදායින් පසුව දැනුම් දෙනු ලැබේ.
නිර්මාණ යොමු කල යුතු ආකාරය
- සියලුම නිර්මාණකරුවන් වචන Facebook සහ/හෝ Instagram පිටු like හෝ follow කර තිබිය යුතුයි. එසේ නොමැති නිර්මාණකරුවන්ගේ නිර්මාණ තරඟයෙන් ඉවත් කරනු ලබයි.
- කෙටිකතාවේ නම, කතෘ නම සහ ඊමේල් ලිපිනය කෙටිකතාව එවන pdf එකේ පැහැදිලිව සඳහන් කරන්න
- Link එකෙහි සඳහන් වෙබ් පිටුවට ගොස්, එහි ඇති form එක පුරවා, තම කෙටිකතාවේ pdf එක upload කරන්න
